Pathfinder Pie

A long, long time ago
I can still remember how ol’ Buckeye’s threads would make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those keyboards dance
And maybe they'd be flaming for a while
But the end of March it made me shiver
with every keystroke I delivered,
Bad news in the header,
Nothing could have stopped me deader,
I can't remember if I cried
when I read about Time’s selfish side
But something touched me deep inside,
The day Pathfinder, died.

CHORUS
So, bye, bye Mr. partisan guy
Point my browser to the bookmark but the connection died.
And them good ol' techs were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin' this will be the day the boards die.
This will be the day the boards die.

Did you write the thread above?
And is your face in the book of Duh?
And Rich Pasma prattles so.
Now do you believe in click ‘n’scroll
Can Tortdog save your mortal soul?
And can you teach Bear how to type real slow?
Well, I know that you're in love with Jim
'Cause I saw your flaming war with him
You both blew off the rules
And we all fell off our stools
There was a looney leftist baiting Hank
Who questioned conrad and drew a blank
But I knew that that was in the tank....
The day Pathfinder died.

CHORUS

Now for 4 years we've been on our own
Since Marcus left for parts unknown.
But that's not how it is at Time.
And then Dave became our king and queen
But in that role he was seldom seen
And his posts they looked like yours and mine.
And when the King was lying down
Russell would up and torch the town
And on the boards they never learned.
Russell always would return
And while Fiat wrote a book on Marx
Sherrie practiced with her darts
And we all giggled in the dark
The day Pathfinder died.

CHORUS

Herb and Otis stuck it to the POTUS.
If Birdz was mean we didn't notice.
Eighty threads and climbing fast.
Speedway landed on his ass,
Ray quoted laws already passed.
And history told by Kirk was just a gas.
Now the warming earth was in review
While Regal said it wasn’t news.
We nearly pissed our pants,
When Dean did his colored dance.
And Algore tried to take the field,
The Texas Gov. refused to yield.
And we all argued if he didn’t steal,
To The day Pathfinder died.

CHORUS

Oh and there we were in cyber space,
With everyone pleading out their case,
And Y-Sam impeached Jackson once again.
So come on, Ricco’s nimble, Blue Lime’s quick,
McMurray is our nation schtick
And streamline is everybody’s friend.
Oh but when we read a spin doc’s phrase
Our answers would go on for days.
No campaign clerk could yell,
As loud or write so well.
But against the Nanny stood all of us,
The lame, the blind, the right wing nuts.
We're all bozos on this bus.
The day pathfinder died.

CHORUS

I met a girl with handle blue,
I asked about the folks we knew,
But she just smiled and turned away.
I clicked my bookmark where the board was found.
I searched and looked, and cruised around.
But the screen there said I’m sorry, page not found.
And on the net, some posters screamed
Some flamers died and the rest were steamed.
But none of them were jokin’,
The links had all been broken.
And the three that I admire most
Duh and Libby and the RR host
They’ve all gone somewhere else to post...
The day Pathfinder died.

So, bye, bye Mr. partisan guy
Point my browser to the bookmark but the connection died.
And them good ol' techs were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin' this will be the day the boards die.

This will be the day the boards die.
