Ain't no trash in my trailer since I threw you out [CooterBrown] - 10:18am May 23, 2000 EST (#22 of 694)

A burglar broke into a house one night. He shone his flashlight around, looking for valuables, and when he picked up a CD
player to place in his sack, a strange, disembodied voice echoed from the dark saying, "Jesus is watching you".

He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked his flashlight off and froze. When he heard nothing more after a bit, he shook his
head, promised himself a vacation after the next big score, then clicked the light back on and began searching more valuables.
Just as he pulled the stereo out so he could disconnect the wires, clear as a bell he heard, "Jesus is watching you. " Totally
rattled, he shone his light around frantically, looking for the source of the voice. Finally, in the corner of the room, his
flashlight beam came to rest on a parrot.

"Did you say that?" He hissed at the parrot.

"Yes," the parrot confessed, then squawked, "I'm just trying to warn you. " The burglar relaxed. "Warn me, huh? Who do you
think you are any way?"

"Moses," Replied the bird.

"Moses" the burglar laughed.

"What kind of stupid people would name a parrot 'Moses'?"

The bird promptly answered: "The same kind of people that would name a Rottweiler 'Jesus'!"

You're right, Mike. The pathetic attempts to refocus and hold hostage this community just aren't working for the disrupters. No
one is playing anymore and their time is consumed with registering new user names -- more of a hassle for them then their
brief visits are for us.

before.

It is heartening to know this board has a great deal of resiliance to it. ;-)

brains or the common sense given a housefly. LOL.

I have to say I am disappointed. I did not care for the blank lines much either, but I have just read about 20 post here gloating
and full of personal attacks. What is even worse, is that these were made with the assumption that the targets of these rule
violating attacks, would not be able to retaliate. Sorry, but that is hypocritical, rude, and lacking in forsight.

Anyone familiar with html or a bbs knows that it is not that hard to completely hose a board like this so that no one can use it.
Fortunately no one has done that yet, but will you people PLEASE shut up with the personal attacks so that they don't start
trying new methods?

hi- a u-lv-no-ti-s-gi [surferchicklet] - 09:24pm May 26, 2000 EST (#62 of 694)

This is cool...

One day, an expert in time management was speaking to a group of business students and, to drive home a point, used an
illustration those students will never forget. As he stood in front of the group of high-powered overachievers he said, "Okay,
time for a quiz," and pulled out a one-gallon, wide-mouth mason jar and set it on the table in front of him.

He also produced about a dozen fist-sized rocks and carefully placed them, one at a time, into the jar. When the jar was filled to
the top and no more rocks would fit inside, he asked, "Is this jar full?"

Everyone in the class yelled, "Yes."

The time management expert replied, "Really?" He reached under the table and pulled out a bucket of gravel. He dumped some
gravel in and shook the jar causing pieces of gravel to work themselves into the spaces between the big rocks. He then asked
the group once more, "Is the jar full?"

By this time the class was on to him. "Probably not," one of them answered. "Good," he replied.

He reached under the table and brought out a bucket of sand. He started dumping the sand in the jar and it went into all of the
spaces left between the rocks and the gravel. Once more he asked the question, "Is this jar full?" "No," the class shouted. Once
again he said, "Good!"

Then he took a pitcher of water and began to pour it in until the jar was filled to the brim. Then he looked at the class and
asked, "What is the point of this illustration?"

One eager beaver raised his hand and said, "The point is, no matter how full your schedule is, if you try really hard you can
always fit more things in it!"

"No," the speaker replied, "that's not the point. The truth is what this illustration teaches us is this:

If you don't put the big rocks in first, you'll never get them in at all.

What are the "big rocks" in your life? Time with your loved ones? Your faith? Your education? Your dreams? A worthy cause?
Teaching or mentoring others?

Remember to put these big rocks in first or you'll never get them in at all.

So, tonight or in the morning, when you are reflecting on this short story, ask yourself this question, "What are the big rocks
in my life? Then, put those in your jar first!"

How in hell does one start at the first post and get all the way thru to the last post. I've tried three times, from both ends, and get
stalled. Get to a post, hit the 'next' button and it goes nowhere, stays where I'm at.

Not upset if it's a "private" thread for only certain people, just curious.

Do jellyfish get gas from eating jellybeans? [freeindividual] - 12:15am May 27, 2000 EST (#65 of 694)

MsRobbie

Well, started at #1 again, got to #24 like before and that's as far as it goes. Tried what you said, put different #'s in the URL and
tried by clicking the 'next' button and hitting the 'enter' button too, no dice again.

Came back to the last post, backtracked one damn post at a time until #66, then got all the way back to #25. OK, started again and
got to #37, could go no further, just to the last post and here I am.

Thanks for the help but I'm done with this one.

Actually Lara, I think ol' Bill has white hot, seething, rage towards this board and some posters in
particular.

Only tremendous anger would drive someone to indulge in such monumentally inconvenient behavior on
their end, to send such little inconvenience back this way.

Or someone who tremendously bored with a lot of time. Sometimes is not what you feel, but how much time you have on your
hands. Like some of the Lizzard sites. She probably thinks that she compels people to such rage that they are drooling and
seething as they are obsessively making these site. Its probably more that they have a little time and dislike for her and
channeled some energy into making sites, not say, little lines or blank posts...

Babblingbrook, you are indeed a friend! No one I know would even think of asking me to be anywhere at 5:30 a.m. In fact, I'm
not sure I believe there really is such a thing as 5:30 a.m. but, just in case, I don't want to find out.

How often are you going to be called upon to help?

Life's a beach. [babblingbrook] - 09:55pm May 27, 2000 EST (#99 of 694)

I'm not sure I believe there really is such a thing as 5:30

LOL...ya know that *glamourous* business in Hollywood? Most production calls are for 6 am. That means you've parked, walked,
clocked in and gotten everything in order for the camera to roll. I been getting up at 4 am for years. (When I started, my
Billie-Burke-like mother thought I only had to report the first day at such an ungodly hour. She had no use for early morning
either.)

How often are you going to be called upon to help?

An *as needed* thingie while she builds a reliable staff.

BTW, re edema...you might try cranberry juice. It's an effective diruetic that has a healthy cleansing effect on the kidneys.

hi- a u-lv-no-ti-s-gi [surferchicklet] - 10:11pm May 27, 2000 EST (#100 of 694)

bb... Sorry I missed you this morning.

Chicklita and I have spent the day with the roomie, sans her her son. Grilled out for dinner, and listened to a couple of 9 yr old
girls (Chicklita and the neighbor girl) play *Truth or Dare*... *S* The neighbor girl is as witty and Chicklita so it was cute.

We're thinking of going to a craft fair tomorrow, then the beach...

Hopefully the rain will stay away til later in the afternoon...

I used to get up every morning at 5 to go feed horses. I still wake up then, I just go back to sleep generally tho.*S*

Good luck with the two jobs .. Hopefully your friend will have some reliable staff soon.

hi- a u-lv-no-ti-s-gi [surferchicklet] - 10:14pm May 27, 2000 EST (#101 of 694)

Oh... If you have any edema issues from what I understand cutting down on salt and sodas helps and if you take a diuretic
(burdock root tea is a good cleansing thing) take some potassium too. Not a lot tho.

Duh..... Do I take the high pollen count as a sign that Actifed may be required? (she asked hopefully)

Sounds like a lovely day...hope your weather cooperates for tomorrow as well. It's fun to *observe* your kiddo, isn't it? Even at
this advanced age, I'll be busy in a corner of my daughter's classroom and catch a glimpse or hear a conversation that gives me
a whole 'nother insight.I'm glad that being fascinated with one's children goes on...

I'm through with the two jobs for now anyway...like you, if the weather's good, I'm gonna try to get to some part of the beach
that the tourists haven't commandered.

hi- a u-lv-no-ti-s-gi [surferchicklet] - 10:51pm May 27, 2000 EST (#103 of 694)

That's a good point bb... Chicklita said the other day she'd like to live close to a beach you could actually swim in..*S* Still a bit
cool here for the water... we'll do the boardwalk at least tho.

Have a great rest-of-the-weekend!

I just would like to point out that Sly Stallone can kick Antonio Banderas' butt anyday..*S*

Yep... watching Assassin..*S*

Naw, only someone with absolutely nothing else in this world, to do. Someone who has such a boring life that he lives to

ONCE there was a mad scientist who worked by himself in his laboratory. He was so lonely that one day be decided to clone
himself. Everything worked perfectly, except that the clone had a very foul mouth. The scientist worked with the clone but,
alas, he could not make the clone clean up his language. He got so tired of the clone's language that one day he pushed him
off a cliff.

A policeman rushed up to him and yelled: ``You are under arrest!``What for?'' the mad scientist asked.

And the answer was: ``For making an obscene clone fall.

I have had a good weekend. I went out to Fall Creek and Winberry, the two local treesits. I did some climbing, and worked on
some tactics for upcoming fun this next month with some friends.

The sky was mostly cloudy with some sprinkles, but the coolness made the exertion of tree climbing tolerable. I was amused
when Julia Hill (butterfly) talked to us about that magic moment at a hundred feet or so above the forest floor when
contemplations of mortality seem to come out of nowhere. Since I fell, those moments have been less enjoyable, but yet, I climb.

and failed. Once all the options were gone I wound up with her for something like 17 years. I didn't like her, she was a major
bitch, hateful and snappy and SHE didn't like anyone except me. She snapped and yapped and tried to bite anyone who tried
to pet her BUT, I couldn't send her to the pound and she refused to run away.

After 17 years or so she just died.

She was the weirdest dog I ever had. She was probably the reason I now have cats.

Naw...if you met my cat Hobbes you would be sold. He is quite the lovable bundle of fur. No attitude at all. He is pure neuroses.

I can't even get whahizface to lick my toes...

[lara croft] - 05:31am May 29, 2000 EST (#178 of 694)

None of my cats have attitudes, actually. Okay, they have a bit of a class thingie going.

They are all gathered at the door when I come in from work. One insists on spending the next half hour or so on my
shoulder, riding around, purring, nuzzling my neck and ear and looking at me with those "love on" eyes. One seems so over
joyed at seeing me he just can't keep his skin on straight and he doesn't care if he's first petted or last, just so long as he is on
the list at some point, and he purrs loudly through the line.

One is so gentle she wouldn't crowd in the petting line if her life depended on it and as she waits her turn she talks to me
constantly, little love chirps. Another skitters around the ouskirts of what is happening just thrilled that I'm home and that
she will eat soon, The last is wild. The last has been wild for at least ten years and like the rest, I started feeding her because
she looked hungry and lonely. Wild or not, she still still likes to hang out just outside the fringes of the "cat family" and be a
part of what is happening. She rushes in from wherever she hangs out, to greet me in her way. She like to be in my
company, only she doesn't like to be petted or touched.

Each of my kitties are special. They are all little bags of attitude, but they are loving, nuzzling, purring bags of love like I've
never known before, with dogs.

Mike" [jesters1] - 05:48am May 29, 2000 EST (#179 of 694)

Awww...that was such a sweet cat story. Cats are just like that.

This dog has a lot of work to do if he wants to be part of the family.

Learning to purr would be a good start.

All the damn tourists and the curse of the growing population bring to mind how important it is to get the word out that
things are terrible here in Oregon. Pollution so thick that cars keep their lights on even during sunny days.

It rains so much you will have moss growing on your back before long. Jobs are scare. Wages are low. Beggars roam the
streets, as do thugs.

If in spite of all this anyone wishes to come here, be sure to bring lots of money and a shiny new car.

Just trying to be helpful as any Oregonian should. ;-)

Heres one Cooter should like:

One day this guy, who's been stranded all alone on a desert island for 10 years, is sitting out on the beach
when a beautiful woman wearing a wet suit and scuba gear suddenly emerges from the surf. She approaches
the stunned guy and asks,

"How long has it been since you've had a cigarette?" "Ten years!" he says. She unzips a waterproof pocket on
her right sleeve and pulls out a fresh pack of cigarettes. He takes one, lights it, takes a long drag and says, "Oh,
that's good!"

Then the woman asks, "How long has it been since you've had a drink?" Trembling, the man says, "Ten long
years!" The woman unzips her waterproof pocket on her left sleeve, pulls out a flask and gives it to him. The
man takes a long swig and says, "Man, that's sweet!"

The woman then starts slowly unzipping the front of her wet suit, looks at him seductively and asks, "And how
long has it been since you've played around?" The man, with tears in his eyes, replies, "Oh sweet mother of
God! Don't tell me you've got golf clubs in there!"

A woman and a baby came into the doctor's office. She was told to go into a room
and wait for the doctor. He examines the baby and asks the woman, "Is he breast
fed or on the bottle?" "Breast fed." she says. "Well, strip down to your waist." He
orders. She does. He presses both breasts, pinches them both, and then says, "No
wonder this baby is hungry, you don't have any milk." "Naturally," she says,

A man walked into a doctor's office and the receptionist asked him what he had.
He replied, "I got shingles."

She said, "Fill out this form and supply your name, address, medical insurance
number. When you're done, please take a seat."

Fifteen minutes later a nurse's aide came out and asked him what he had. He
said, "I got shingles."

So she took down his height, weight, and complete medical history, then said,
"Change into this gown and wait in the examining room."

A half hour later a nurse came in and asked him what he had. He said, "I got
shingles."

So she gave him a blood test, a blood pressure test, an electrocardiogram, and
told him to wait for the doctor.

An hour later the doctor came in and asked him what he had. He said,
"Shingles."

The doctor gave him a full-cavity examination, and then said, "I just checked
you out thoroughly, and I can't find shingles anywhere."

The man replied, "They're outside in the truck. Where do you want them?"

A mother and father took their 6 year old son to a nude beach. As The boy
walked along the beach, he noticed that some of the ladies Had boobs bigger
than his mother's, and asked her why.

She told her son, "The bigger they are the dumber the person is."

The boy pleased with the answer, goes to play in the ocean but Returns to tell
his mother that many of the men have larger 'units' than His dad.

His mother replied, "The bigger they are the dumber the person is."

Again satisfied with this answer, the boy returns to the ocean to play.

Shortly after, the boy returned again.

He promptly told his mother, "Daddy is talking to the dumbest girl on the beach
and the longer he talks, the dumber he gets."

A wife woke in the middle of the night to find her husband missing from bed. She got out of bed
and checked around the house. She heard sobbing from the basement.

After turning on the light and descending the stairs, she found he husband curled up in the
corner, of the basement, crying like a baby.

"Honey, what's wrong?", she asked, worried about what could hurt him so much.

"Remember, 20 years ago, I got you pregnant and your father threatened me to either marry you
or to go to jail?"

"Yes, of course," she replied.

"Well, I would have been released from jail this afternoon!"

From an actual trial in London ...

A young woman who was several months pregnant boarded a bus. When she noticed a young man
smiling at her she began feeling humiliated on account of her condition.

She changed her seat and he seemed more amused. She moved again and then on her fourth move
he burst out laughing.

She had him arrested for harassment and when the case came before the court this was the man's
reply when asked why he acted in such a manner, "When the lady boarded the bus I couldn't help
noticing she was pregnant. She sat under an advertisement, which read "Coming Soon The Gold
Dust Twins"; then she moved under one that "Sloan's Liniments remove Swelling".

I was even more amused when she sat under a shaving advertisement, which read "William Stick
Did The Trick".

Then I could not control myself any longer when on the fourth move she sat under an
advertisement, which read "Dunlop Rubber would have prevented this accident".

He won the case.

This one is just for Rhi...

Q: How many women with PMS does it take to screw in a light bulb?

A: One. ONE!! And do you know WHY it only takes ONE? Because no one else in this house knows
HOW to change a light bulb. They don't even know the bulb is BURNED OUT. They would sit in this
house in the dark for THREE DAYS before they figured it OUT. And once they figured it out they
wouldn't be able to find the light bulbs despite the fact that they've been in the SAME CUPBOARD
for the past SEVENTEEN YEARS. But if they did, by some miracle, actually find the light bulbs, TWO
DAYS LATER the chair that they dragged from two rooms over to stand on to change the STUPID
light bulb would STILL BE IN THE SAME SPOT!! AND UNDERNEATH IT WOULD BE THE CRUMPLED
WRAPPER THE STUPID @*!#$% LIGHT BULBS CAME IN! WHY?! BECAUSE NO ONE IN THIS HOUSE EVER
CARRIES OUT THE GARBAGE!! IT'S A WONDER WE HAVEN'T ALL SUFFOCATED FROM THE PILES OF
GARBAGE THAT ARE 12 FEET DEEP THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE. THE HOUSE!! IT WOULD TAKE AN
ARMY TO CLEAN THIS...

I'm sorry...what did you ask me?

Cinderella

Cinderella wants to go to the ball, but her wicked stepmother won't let her. As Cinderella sits
crying in the garden, her fairy godmother appears, and promises to provide Cinderella with
everything she needs to go to the ball, but only on two conditions.

"First, you must wear a diaphragm."

Cinderella agrees.

"What's the second condition?"

"You must be home by 2 a.m. Any later, and your diaphragm will turn into a pumpkin."

Cinderella agrees to be home by 2 a.m. The appointed hour comes and goes, and Cinderella doesn't
show up. Finally, at 5 a.m., Cinderella shows up, looking love struck and **very** satisfied.

"Where have you been?" demands the fairy godmother. "Your diaphragm was supposed to turn
into a pumpkin three hours ago!!!"

"I met a prince, Fairy Godmother. He took care of everything."

"I know of no prince with that kind of power! Tell me his name!"

Bill seems to think that when people answer him and then his posts are deleted leaving only
the answers, that somehow makes the person answering him look silly or stupid.

Isn't it sad that bill has been reduced to getting his only pleasure from his own narrow,
self-serving interpretation of what looking silly and/or is?

Look around bill, the only person who looks silly AND stupid around here is you, the old geezer
who insists on going where he is not wanted despite being toss out everytime he arrives.

Now THAT is looking silly and, it's pretty dang sad.

When the I-Bill chuckles and notes that his posts will be deleted and anyone who spoke to him
will look silly, you have to take into account that even though this is not true, it's all he has left
and so he must believe it with all his heart.

This makes your definition even that much more relevant, don't you think Robbie. LOLOLOL

Lemme explain it for YOU, I-Bill.

Lara and I hang out here because we are welcome here. Because people LIKE us. Because when
we miss a few days we get letters from a LOT of people asking us why we aren't here.

YOU hang out here because you have absolutely no place to go where you are welcome on the
face of the internet, so you come here, where you are hated but at least you get the semblance
of contact with a group of people, even though all but the truly screwed up loathe you. Because
ANY recognition, even if it's just someone telling you to FOAD, means that you have been
noticed.

And if you have been noticed, then you can convince yourself that you are real.

Poor I-Bill. Noplace, noplace at all where people smile when they see you. Only places where
people smile when you leave.

as an example, you are heading that way also. J

Hi there McDuffy. How you doin this morning. Maybe it is night where you are. Regal is right

Good day Regal, are there warning signs at the turn offs of trouble. I hope so. I am easily
distracted. You know grass greener on the other side. LOL

Lady Jane - Greetings, yes, but not as much as warning signs at he wrong turn offs, signs can
easily be covered with hazy dust.

But the cliff is not hard to see, and if the tracks is leading anyone over the cliff; that is the real
sign to avoid and detour everyone to Peace & Love; our destination. J

McDuffy, I was warned before I got over here that I should be prepared for some unexpected
problems. And so I covered myself with the Armour of Love from head to toe.

May I suggest that you just get that armour on now, because I can see that it ain't gonna let up for
you. I just don't understand why anyone keeps hammering with the same old questions day and
night. Lots of people refer to them, they, some, most, etc. What's the deal here.

I know I am a late comer, but so far I can't find a single reason to pound on some one person
forever. Most of these people LOL you know who you are, and I'm not sure who all of you are, but I
think need to get a life and start spreading some forgiveness and mercy and add a bit of love to it.

I really like all of you, but I have a tendency to stand up for the underdog. I don't like to see
anyone abused or harassed.

McDuffy is just a very young girl, and all young girls have to live the life of learning and how to
communicate. Communication skills are so important that they are the subject of classes in the
business world today. Now let's give this little girl a chance to mature as we are all still maturing.
Love will work wonders in your suggestions to young people, but harassment builds walls and
fences.

How about it. Me too, I need to practice some of it. You are all my friends, and I hope you won't be
mad at me for my suggestions. Love ya
