It doesn’t say much about my character that I stayed with a man who would commit fraud, infidelity, etc., who would lie to his friends and family, steal from his mother, and screw over strangers with not a thought of regret. I require a certain level of integrity of myself, but that means nothing when I don’t of the people around me. Of that fact about myself, I do feel shame.
